There's been a lot of hoopla recently about D.O.G.E. - our new Department of Government Efficiency. My eyes open widely each day reading about the wasteful spending that may have been going on for decades - and I hope it brings a more effective use of OUR tax dollars.
And, it got me thinking - do I need to review my financial efficiency?
What is in my budget that could be considered wasteful spending?
Maybe it's not happening intentionally, but maybe I signed up for a subscription service - haven't opened it for years - maybe I even deleted the app - but every month or year - the money is going out of my account - wastefully!
Maybe it's time we all do our own personal DOGE.

Here are some suggestions to detect your overspending and gain efficiency in your finances.
- Open the Google Play app
- Tap your profile picture
- Select Payments & subscriptions
- Tap Subscriptions
- Open the Settings app
- Tap your name
- Tap Subscriptions
- View your subscriptions
- Review your credit card statements each month to find recurring charges
- Use the Rocket Money app to find and track your subscriptions
- You can cancel a subscription directly with the company by calling or emailing them
- If that doesn't work, you can contact your bank or card company
- Opening your device's Settings app
- Tapping Google
- Tapping Your name
- Tapping Manage your Google Account
- Tapping Payments & subscriptions
